Daily schedule

Our daily schedule offers time for children to participate in both group activities and independent child choice activities. 

Morning circle:

9:00 a.m.

The morning meeting is a time to greet everyone and start our day. Activities at the morning meeting include children’s jobs, pledge of allegiance, calendar, weather, the introduction of new letters and numbers of the week and the day’s activities.

Child choice time:

9:00 a.m. – 9:25 a.m.

A variety of developmentally appropriate activities encourage learning in all areas of development, as well as a teacher-facilitated activity.

Clean up time

9:25 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.

All the children work together to clean up our classroom.

Story time:

10:45 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
The teacher reads a story to the class relative to the current curriculum.

Snack time:

11:00 a.m. – 11:50 a.m.

Our school has a strict allergy policy. Children begin snack with hand washing and participate in serving and clean-up. Snacks include cookies, fruits, and child-friendly refreshing juices. Water is provided with the snack.

Quiet time:

11:50 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
A short rest time (two minutes) at snack tables while listening to quiet music.

Afternoon circle:

12:30 p.m. – 12:45 p.m.
Meeting time is an opportunity for the whole class to get together in one area. Activities at this meeting include show and tell, music and movement, class discussions and group games. Most importantly this is a time for children to share information with others, practice listening and waiting skills, and participate in a large group.

Physical activity:

12:45 p.m. – 2:15 p.m.

Children participate in active play outdoors and in our indoor playground in cold or poor weather.

Goodbye:

 3p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Children gather personal items, receive handouts, and wait at the front door for dismissal.
